Elizabeth I She/Her I Proprietor

The series is witty, emotionally provocative (as in it makes me want to cry and then cackle like a witch, usually in the same page), and addicting. Princess Donut, a sentient talking cat, is the real hero of this story to me. She easily outshines Carl (sorry Carl, go talk to the AI if you need an ego boost) and is one of my favorite book characters of all time. I cannot stress this enough, this series draws you in and doesn't let go. You will find yourself loosing track of time while reading and then "accidentally" reading 300 pages in a sitting.

Robin I they/them I Barista/Bookseller

If you enjoy historical fiction you will love this story of two sisters during WW2. Emotional, raw, and powerful- this book will show you the strength of women, the bond that exists between two sisters, and how the tragedies of war didn’t just happen on the battlefield.

Loved this book! At no point did I know what was going to happen next and I’m pretty sure my heart was pounding as hard as the main characters!

Naiomi I She/Her I Barista

This was a book club book here at Inkwell that caught my attention because it was so short and had a very neat/complex premise. It’ll have you thinking and pondering for a few days after reading. I sped through it in a few hours because I couldn’t put it down! It’s very dark, existential, and at times almost comedic/satire. It managed to be very easy to picture this “world” even though it’s short, which is a testament to the writing of the author. Highly recommend!
